Children move into the Seedlings room around 28 months. The room is set up similarly to the Pre School Oaks room so children can start to access each area of continuous provision depending on their interests. The open plan style of the room allows children to explore the different resources independently whilst still having the support of the adult. Each morning children take part in a mini registration using sign language and a welcome song. Practitioners give lots of praise to encourage children’s confidence with their self help skills so they are ready to enter the Oak Preschool room.

Outdoor Learning

Outside the children have a range of textures to explore in their playground to develop their gross motor skills. A range of materials for imaginative play allow children to learn and develop inside and outside the setting. The giant sand pit complete with topper is very popular in the summer when it’s shoes and socks off!
